Consultation, installation and support across Ireland

Workplaces & employment

Make work easier to hear and easier to join.

Meetings, calls, training and conversations can become exhausting when noise and distance compete with speech. We help identify practical remote microphone solutions and support eligible Work and Access applications with clear product information and quotations.

Ireland’s Work and Access programme

Funding may be available for eligible workplace supports.

Work and Access is administered by Ireland’s Department of Social Protection. It includes supports intended to remove or reduce disability-related barriers to employment. Depending on the circumstances and current programme rules, specialised equipment or a workplace needs assessment may be relevant.

Classroom Audio Technology can help clarify the listening situations, demonstrate appropriate audio equipment, check compatibility and provide a written specification or quotation. The Department of Social Protection decides eligibility, funding and approval.

Check current official eligibility and forms
  1. Describe the barrier

Identify the work situations where communication is most difficult: meetings, calls, distance, training or mixed environments.

  2. Identify suitable equipment

Review personal hearing technology, room use, online platforms and the number and movement of speakers.

  3. Prepare practical information

Provide a demonstration, compatibility details, specification and quote where appropriate.

  4. Apply through the official process

The relevant employee, employer or self-employed person submits the required application and awaits approval before purchase.

Common work situations

Choose around the work, not around a product name.

One portable microphone may suit changing conversations. A table network may suit recurring multi-speaker meetings. The right answer depends on the role.

Meetings

Table microphones and connected microphone networks can help when speakers are distributed around a room.

Calls & hybrid work

Solutions can connect speech from computers and phones while also supporting people speaking in the room.

Mobile roles

Portable remote microphones can support one-to-one conversation, presentations and changing day-to-day settings.

What we can provide

Useful evidence, proper setup and support after approval.

  • Listening-needs discussion

A practical review of the role, work environments and communication barriers.

  • Equipment demonstration

An opportunity to understand how the proposed system behaves in relevant situations.

  • Specification and quotation

Clear product and compatibility information for the applicable official process.

  • Installation and user support

Configuration, connection guidance, handover and continuing technical support.

Important programme note

Work and Access rules, application responsibilities and funding levels can change. Approval is not guaranteed, and equipment should not be purchased in expectation of reimbursement unless the Department of Social Protection has confirmed the applicable process and approval. Always use the current official guidance linked above.

A clear next step

A short conversation can turn a vague workplace problem into a clear equipment brief.

Tell us what the job involves, where communication breaks down and what hearing technology is already used.
