Three safe first checks
Try these in order, beginning with the hearing aid. If something looks damaged, unusually hot or unsafe, stop and request service.

Start with the hearing aid
Fit a fresh hearing-aid battery before changing any Roger settings. If the hearing aid is rechargeable, confirm it is fully charged and restart it first.

Charge the microphone
Start with a full Roger On charge so a low microphone battery is not mistaken for a connection problem.

Position it for the task
Roger On normally adapts its microphone setting automatically: flat in the middle of a table, pointed towards a talker or worn within about 20 cm of the speaker’s mouth.

Something isn’t working
Work through one symptom
Do not change several settings at once. After each check, test the same simple speech task again.
Speech is too quiet or unclear
Fit a fresh hearing-aid battery first, or fully charge and restart a rechargeable hearing aid. Check that Roger On is unmuted and in Automatic mode, then position it closer to the speaker without covering its microphone openings.
The hearing devices do not receive Roger sound
After the fresh-battery check, confirm the hearing device or attached receiver is powered on. Then follow the official connection guide for the exact RogerDirect or receiver setup; compatibility and steps vary.
Calls or media do not play
Test ordinary speech through Roger first. Then check the phone or computer’s selected audio input/output and use the official call or audio video for the Roger On model.
